The movie”Gumnaam” launched the famous editors Waman and Guru and they remained on top of their bracket till the early 90’s. “Shatranj” was an example of a rare co-production and a rare movie which costed a whopping amount of one crore! The movie “Chor Machaye Shor” launched Ravindra Jain, the composer. This movie also resulted in giving a new lease of life to the careers of director Ashok Roy and the famous Shashi Kapoor. Shashi Kapoor courtesy this movie became one of the first movie stars who started working multiple shifts in numerous films. He would do almost three shifts a day comprising of four hours each! The movie “Fakira” acted as a commercial launch pad for Shabana Azmi. “Kalicharan” was a hero launch pad for Shartrugan Sinha and directorial debut venture of Subhash Ghai -w ho are now household names of the Indian Film Industry. The movie “Ghar” was not only critically acclaimed but also resulted in Rekha winning both the Filmfare Award and the prestigious National Award. “Devata” gave an image make over to Danny Dezongapa, from a negative to a positive character, which is a breakthrough in the stereotype mould of the Indian Film Industry.
