Suresh Krissna is known for his work in South Indian cinema and Bollywood. He was an associate director to legendary K. Balachander, L.V. Prasad and Dasari Narayana Rao and has directed 50 films in various languages – Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi spanning almost 27 years. His first Tamil film was Sathya (1988). He found success with Kavithalaya’s Annamalai, starring Rajinikanth.
Since then, he has directed Veera, Baashha and Baba with Rajinikanth in the lead. In 1989 he received the Nandi Award for Best Director for Prema and Best Screenplay for the film Vasundhara in 1991. Suresh has also been a member of the jury for the 2011 Indian National Awards.
